Center of Excellence in Railway Transportation (CERT) 

 

was established in 2011 at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) as a positive answer to the national railway development plans in Iran. CERT mission is to provide state of the art in different disciplines of the railway engineering including: Railway Transportation Engineering, Railway Rolling Stock, Railway Track & Structures, Electric Railways, Railway Safety and Railway Control and Signaling.

CERT vision is to act as the country scientific reference in Railway Engineering. Internationally contributed professors as well as their postgraduate students and fellows are promoting the railway sciences in this center of excellence.  CERT has close scientific collaborations with the leading railway research centers and schools around the world.

Unique research laboratories including: Ground Vibration, Railway Noise and Vibration, High-Speed Railway Structural Analysis, High-Speed Train Aerodynamics, Advanced Railway Control Systems and also high-speed computational facilities provide the research platform for the CERT activities. More than 100 publications in international journals and conference papers as well as the technical and industrial reports are every year reported in the CERT annual report.
